This site is dedicated to my daughter Emma Smith, born on January 30th 2006 in the Acworth Georgia area. Her mother Mary Elizabeth Smith (Liz Smith) and I dated for less than a year, but we never married. Our relationship didn't work out, which has prevented me from seeing Emma.

I was told that Emma knows about this site and that and that she doesn't want to talk to me right now. I have to admit to being hurt and feeling sad by that, but understand the situation might be difficult. I hope as she becomes an adult in January that she has a change of heart. I have a hope that she will call me or be open to talking with me directly, even if to tell me herself that it still isn't a good time. Emma, if you're seeing this yourself, please know that I love you and think it is important for us to talk and have a relationship. There are things you should know about my family and background.
Emma, I hope you're able to be reading this before we meet for the first time. I'm doing everything I can to see you before Christmas 2023. My heart is filled with hope that this can be true for us.

I was told today that the legal papers were served. If you are aware of that and have feelings about it, I would like to talk with you about the reasons for doing this so you can understand why I am trying to setup legitimation. I have written another letter for you. I will be sending it to you courier with your signature required. If you don't get that letter, I have a copy and can give you that with all the other letters I have written you over the years.
Emma, I am asking that you give me a moment to talk with you directly, face to face, in a private conversation where we can talk about these issues and concerns you have. I really want you to know that I love you and that you know I am your father, out here, with a special place in his heart for you. If you need me I will be there for you. If you want to spend time with me, I have that for you. As you read this whole page, you will see there is a large family that know of you and are eager to meet you and share our lives with you.
I am hopeful that soon we will meet for the first time and can move forward from that. I have waited your entire life for the day I would meet you. I hold no expectations for how you will react to me, but just seeing you with my own eyes and see that you are seeing me with your own eyes will mean so much to me. I love you Emma.

Today at church it felt like the sermon was written for me. We were asked if we still held grudges against people from the past. Later when we said the Lord's prayer, the part "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us". This is work I have done on my own in areas of my own life, but am asking for from Liz.
"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
I've been at the various crossroads in my life and was delivered from evil. I praise God for helping
me through the dark times of my life.
I am a Christian and know that as a person who is was a sinner, is a sinner and will be until I die that Jesus died for my sins too. I am on my path back to redemption. It has been a long road Emma. Please take some time to get to know me as the man I am by spending some time with me. Talk with me. Let me hear your life stories. Let me share mine with you.

I've started a process called legitimation for you, which I should have done long ago. I've had a lawyer before and was never told about that. I really want to talk with you about this and why I am doing this now and not earlier. I've asked for a time to talk with you and have a lawyer to try and coordinate that and make sure we can do the right things this time.
It is 10:30 here and I have been home from the gym for about 2 hours. I'm gone through a major transformation in my body, my mind, and my spirit. I'm not the man I was when you were born.
Background of our Family
Acworth and Woodstock are both close enough to Atlanta Georgia to be considered suburbs of the Atlanta area. I believe it is also included as part of the Metro Atlanta Area.

Emma, this site was made in the hopes that you would one day find it and learn more about your father. I believe you haven't been told about who I am by people in your life who really didn't and don't know me. Every child eventually wants to know both their parents and this site is for you to reach out to me if you want.
I met your mother while separated from my first wife. I wasn't fully divorced and was going through some really tough times trying to figure out how to put my life back together after having it torn apart from divorce. Your mother, Liz Smith, decided to buy a house in Cumming Georgia in order for us to live together about 3 months after we started dating. We did live together for a few months, but your mother never really unpacked her stuff as our relationship was already on the rocks. She became pregnant with you at the very end of our relationship.
Before I met your mother, I had 4 sons with my first wife. Those 4 boys are your half brothers, named Matthew, Luke, Jarod, and Nicholas. Nicholas is just a couple of years older than you. A few years after I was with your mother, I remarried to the woman I am with now. We also have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Their names are John, Katharine, Eugene, and Abigail. John is about 2 years younger than you.
Yes, Emma, you have 8 brothers and sisters who have all known about you since you were born. I love you and wish I could have spent time with you while you were growing up, but your mother and her family have never allowed me to ever meet you. The few pictures of you I do have are from years of searching for anything I could find about you online. Also one of your family members gave me a picture of you where you appear to be around 12 years old which I have not included here. I am unsure if it is really you as the girl looks a little different but it may be. I hope one day we can look at that picture together and figure it out.

About Emma Smith's Father's Side of the Family
We currently live in Las Vegas Nevada. We moved here during the pandemic when everthing was shutdown in Seattle. We were locked into a small apartment, but prior to the pandemic we enjoyed being in the heart of the city. Living in the city allowed me to get in shape, driven from walking to almost everything I do on a day to day basis. I am fortunate to have continued to maintain good physical conditioning after the move to Las Vegas.
We've lived in Las Vegas since 2020 and in downtown Seattle since 2010, but moved to Cumming Georgia for 3 years to be closer to family and build relationships. During this time I tried a variety of way to talk to Emma, see her, or know more about her but was thwarted at every turn. It was a difficult time in my life. We moved back to Seattle to be in the city we love.
Every year Macy's parade goes by our apartment building and we can watch it from our balcony and then go down as it goes by. When Obama was president he came to do speech in the building right next door. We had secret service and protestors all around our apartment building. We have a Barnes and Noble across the street, as well as 3 malls each with a movie theatre all within 2 blocks of us.
I've lived the Atlanta suburb life for well over a decade, so I've lived the lifestyle of driving to go everywhere you need. When I first moved to Atlanta I also lived in a high rise building in Buckhead. I like living in a city like seattle where work, play, church, shopping and everything you can do is all a walk away. I also like living by the beach like in Florida.
Beyond Emma's 8 siblings and a father she hasn't met yet, there is a bigger family. My mother is Rose Mary Denman and I find that Emma reminds me of my mother a bit. I know Liz Smith, Emma's mother also has thick black hair, but my mother and I both have that same thick hair. Emma's sister Abby also has that thick hair.

Providing details about Emma's mother is intended to make it easier for Emma to find this page and be certain it was really for her. My own search for Emma has been frustrated by the fact that it is a common name that also has a few famous types included. Those famous versions of names dominate searches and will make it harder for her to find this. None of these details are meant to be negative or hurtful and I am trying to keep it basic data that can already be found online with a little effort.
Mary Elizabeth Smith was born in the state of Georgia, USA. She typically goes by the first name Liz rather than Mary. She is approximately 5 ft 8 inches tall. When she was younger, she tried doing modeling, but eventually moved on to other careers. Her parents divorced when she was younger and both her parents remarried. Her father died approximately in the year 2010. As far as I know, Liz lived her entire life in the greater Atlanta area. As I've known it, the general Cherokee County Georgia area has been her stomping ground for her entire adult life.
When I met Liz she was working as a flight attendant at Delta Airlines. She also worked as a relief nurse for hospitals in Acworth Georgia area. During that time, she lived at:

3330 Elizabeth Ct, Cumming Georgia 30040 .The Elizabeth Ct Cumming house was in the same subdivision I was living in called Bethwicke. We really enjoyed shopping at the Kroger supermarket up the street on Bethelview Rd and Highway 20. We also really enjoyed eating out at various Long Horn restaurants around the north Atlanta area. Long Horn is a well known steak house in that part of the state of Georgia.
I've always had a special place in my heart for Disney World too. My father took me to see Disney World when I was 11 years old and spending the summer with him. It was a different park back then. There was no Zoo, there was no Blizzard Beach and other water parks. Certainly, Disney World has grown and changed significantly since I was a kid visiting for the first time. When I think of my daughter Emma Smith going to Disney World at the same age as my first visit it makes me wish I could take her to Disney as her father. Even better if I could take Emma with her other siblings for a big fun family trip.
Liz gave birth to a daughter, Emma Smith, in early 2006. Emma Smith's parents are Matthew James Denman and Mary Elizabeth Smith, whom were dating in the Atlanta Georgia area in 2005.
Liz has a sister named Deborah Smith, who also has a daughter. Debora divorced her first husband and remarried in 2017. Deborah now goes by the name Deborah Orr.
As of 2017, Liz works as a special ed teacher at Woodstock High School. As of 2017, she runs 2 home based businesses, "Magical Travel by Liz" and "Magical Totes from Liz". Both of these businesses were listed as operating out of:

I recall that we went to Disney World a few times and Liz seemed to really enjoy herself. Having those small home based businesses allows her to keep Disney World and the Magic Kingdom in her life. It is always a good thing when someone can find a way to make a business out of something they love.
The Atlanta area is one of the biggest cities in the southern USA. Part of Atlanta's charm is that it still has its roots in the traditions of the past yet able to move forward into the future with modern ideas at the same time. I think Liz Smith has stayed in the Atlanta area all her life because she enjoys the southern tradition of its past. In the northern part of Atlanta there are still many memorials to the confederate army. Near Emma Smith's brother Nick's house, there is a small memorial and grave yard for fallen soldiers from the confederate war.
I hope that there are enough people in the Atlanta metro area interested in traveling to Disney World and that Liz is able to help them with that as part of her career. I am sure she is able to do a fantastic job planning detailed trips to Orlando Florida and the Disney World resort. I remember she was able to think about all the details such as where and when to eat when we went there back in 2005. I recall that she was particular fond of Magic Kingdom, but also Epcot Center. I really enjoy Epcot.
